What does it mean to be a “duty-free/tax free” retailer?
The Cayman islands charges no sales tax at all and no import duties on many of the items Kirk Freeport sells. This means that our customers can save a significant amount on their purchases as these extra costs are not included in the retail price. I’m not from the Cayman Islands. What if I have a problem with my purchase?
All of products sold at Kirk Freeport are covered by the respective manufacturer’s international warranty, Kirk Freeport’s return policy, and guarantees from cruise lines. Kirk Freeport has served local and international customers in the Cayman Islands since 1972 and we are proud to greet many of our customers on each of their repeat visits to Cayman. My relative lives in the Cayman Islands. Can I purchase a gift for them from your website?
Kirk Freeport sells gift cards through our website that make perfect gifts for your family and friends. Please include the recipient’s address when ordering and we will mail the gift card directly to them.
Why can’t I buy everything through the Kirk Freeport website?
Many of our suppliers have strict policies of not using the internet to sell or ship products.
What Forms of Payment does Kirk Freeport accept?
We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, Diners Club and American Express credit cards and travellers cheques. We accept Cayman Dollar debit cards, cheques drawn on local banks, and US and Cayman cash.
Do I have to exchange money to shop at Kirk Freeport?
All pricing and sales for products sold by Kirk Freeport are in U.S. dollars. We also accept the Cayman Islands dollar at an exchange rate common to retailers in the Cayman Islands.
I am arriving by cruise ship and have a pre-booked excursion. Will I also have time to shop?
Kirk Freeport stores are located within a 1 or 2 minute walk from all of the cruise ship terminals. For your convenience we encourage you to book an early tour to give you time to shop after returning downtown, but even with a late tour most ship schedules allow enough time to make your purchase before returning to the ship.
